alive、living、live、lively 的区别
这四个形容词都源自动词 live，[lɪv]，具有“活着”和“居住”两个词义。其中，前三个形容词均由“活着”这一词义派生而来：
1. alive [əˈlaɪv] 作表语时，表示“活着的”，修饰人或物；作定语时，需放在名词之后。
- The little dog is still alive. 小狗还活着。
- He was the only person alive after the crash. 他是撞车后唯一的生还者。
2. living 动词 live 的现在分词形式，作形容词使用，类似 interesting、exciting 等单词。表示“活着的”、“逼真的”。可作表语、定语、宾补；作定语时为前置定语。
- I found a living fish among those dead ones. 我在那些死鱼中发现一条活的。
- The living represent the people who are still alive, in contrast to "the dead." 活着的人，与“死人”相反。被视为复数。
- The living are more important to us than the dead. 活着的比死去的对我们更重要。
3. live [laɪv] 表示“活的”、“直播的”，仅可修饰物，不可修饰人。当表示“活着的”时，可与 living 互换使用。
- Cats like to play with live mice before eating them. 猫喜欢在吃掉活老鼠之前，先玩玩它们。
- This is my favourite live album of all time. 这是我最喜爱的现场专辑。
4. lively [laivli] 为形容词，与前三个形容词不同，不具有“活着”的含义。表示“活泼的、鲜艳的、生动的”。可修饰人或物，可作表语、定语、宾补。
- She is a lively girl who is easy-going. 她性格活泼，容易相处。
