当谈及“neither”时：
通常，使用“neither+单数名词”来表示两者都不。例如：
Neither answer is correct.

A. “neither”作为主语或宾语
当“neither”单独作为主语或宾语时，表示两者都不，如：

They both smiled; neither seemed likely to be aware of my absence for long.

B. “neither of+特定的两个人或事物”
当“neither of”用于特定的两个人或事物时，表示“两个都不”：

3. “neither”和“not … either”的使用比较
“neither”与“not … either”可以互换使用，但“neither”较为正式，常用于书面语；而“not … either”更口语化。
He did not go, neither did she. = He didn’t go, and she didn’t go either.
他没去，她也没去。
He cannot speak, neither can he hear. = He cannot speak, and cannot hear either.
他既不能说话，也听不见。
I can't ever recall Dad hugging me. Neither did I sit on his knee.
我不记得爸爸曾抱过我，我也没坐在他的膝盖上。
I hadn't been to New York before and neither had Jane. = I hadn't been to New York before and Jane hadn't either.

She doesn't like the movie. Neither/Nor do I.

注意：
1. 当主语相只能用“nor”连接，如：
I don’t know, nor do I care.
我既不知道，也不关心。
He won't be here on Monday, nor on Tuesday.
他星期一不在，星期二也不在。
He never behaves honestly, nor wisely.
他的行为既不诚实，也不明智。
2. 当多个否定并列时，只能用“nor”连接各部分，如：
You can’t sing, nor can I, nor can she.
你不会唱歌，我不会，她也不会。

“neither… nor”用于连接两个主语，表示既不…也不…：
Neither the TV nor the video actually work/works.
